The Nanay Ritual
Mothering the Mother
This is where care begins again—with you.
Inspired by ancestral postpartum rituals from the Philippines and around the world, the Nanay Ritual is our way of honoring the sacred transition into motherhood. Whether you’re newly postpartum or months into your recovery journey, this experience is designed to support your body, soothe your nervous system, and honor the miracle of birth.
Why the Nanay?
What does Naynay mean?
In Tagalog, Nanay means mother. It’s a word spoken with reverence, softness, and familiarity.
This service is our founder’s love letter to her Filipino roots and to the universal journey of parenthood. Rooted in global traditions that emphasize nurturing touch, warmth, rest, and recalibration, the Nanay is a full-body ritual for anyone who has carried life—whether by birth, loss, or transition.

The Nanay blends light lymphatic touch, warm oil massage, and restorative moments designed to melt tension from the neck, shoulders, womb space, and feet. A signature belly wrapping technique using hot compresses helps reset the core and digestive system. You’ll be invited to rest, reset, and receive—without needing to explain anything. Your body already did the talking.
This service also includes:
Breathwork or intention setting
Warm tea or broth post-service
Optional time in our Pillow Room for deeper decompression

Many cultures practice “mothering the mother” with 30-40 days of intentional support, bodywork, and nourishment. We can’t recreate that timeframe in one service—but we can offer you an experience that remembers what your body has been through and treats it accordingly.
-
Yes. We ask that you wait until your doctor has cleared you for massage or physical touch in the abdominal area. If you are unsure, we’re happy to modify your experience and avoid any sensitive areas.
-
Guests must be past their first trimester
Please let us know if you are nursing or have experienced recent loss so we can adjust the session accordingly
Intimacy and consent are prioritized at every step. Your therapist will check in with you throughout the experience.
-
Absolutely. We are mindful of positioning and comfort. If needed, we can provide support cushions, and breaks can be taken at any time. Please just let your therapist know how you’re feeling day-of.

This is not a full-body massage. The Nanay is a curated ritual designed specifically for the pregnant or postpartum body. It includes:
A gentle belly ritual featuring warm compresses and a soothing mask applied to the abdomen
Our signature Skin Gym facial massage to relieve facial tension, promote circulation, and support relaxation
Reflexology on the hands and feet to ground the body and support postpartum recovery
Breathwork, optional intention setting, and space to simply be held without expectation
This is not deep bodywork—it’s a nurturing, intentional experience meant to honor the changes your body has moved through.
